Sgt. Hit by Alleged Drunk Driver Files Suit

A Wichita Falls police officer has filed a lawsuit in connection with an accident in which police say he was hit by a drunk driver while tending to another DWI wreck.
Sergeant Danny Wiggins is back on light duty after being seriously injured in the Sept. 29 accident.
He suffered a severe concussion, a broken femur, and several broken ribs.
Court documents state Wiggins is seeking damages for loss of earnings, medical bills, and other pain and anguish.
Officials say Sgt. Wiggins in his patrol car on the scene of a DWI accident on Kell East near Taft Blvd. with his emergency lights on when his car was rear-ended by a pick-up truck.
Sergeant Wiggins had to be cut free from the wreckage.
Police say the man who hit Wiggins is 23-year-old Kyle Evan Adams of Burkburnett.
He's awaiting trial for intoxicated assault.
He has a court hearing scheduled for Friday.
