A car crashed through the guard rail on Central Freeway near McKinney Road Monday, then rolled down the embankment, sending two passengers to the hospital and police on a hunt for the driver.

The driver of a Mustang traveling westbound apparently lost control of the vehicle between McKinney and Windthorst Road, causing the car to flip over the guard-rail and roll down the embankment of the the overpass.

According to police, the man driving the Mustang ran away on foot and hasn't been found. A man and woman were transported to United Regional. Debris from the wreck was scattered around the area. No word yet on conditions of the victims or cause of the crash.
