Construction is expected to start this spring on a veterans memoral at the Wichita County Cemetery.

Organizers have so far sold 76 memorial bricks and raised more than $20,000 to build a pavilion at the county cemetery.

The structure will not only honor veterans buried there but also Glen Eickman, the former county veteran's service officer who died shortly after organizing the project.

An architect is currently making a design plan for the pavilion and coordinators hope to have the concrete pad poured by Memorial Day.

Engraved memorial bricks are still available for purchase for $50 each.

To purchase one call Dick Crislip at (940) 761-4364.
