It has been five years since Blanca Luna, a senior airman at Sheppard Air Force Base, was stabbed and killed.

Sheppard officials say on Thursday, they contacted the Office of Special Investigations, the agency in charge of Luna's murder, and they've been told the investigation is complete but the official report has not yet been released.

For Luna's family, it's been five years with little to no answers on to what happened.
Hilda Barrios, Luna's aunt, talked to KFDX over the phone from her home in Chicago.
The interview was done in Spanish and later translated.

Barrios says it is very difficult because there has been no justice or clarifications as to what happened to Luna.
Barrios says Luna was the pride and joy of her family.
"For us, she was a very studious girl, very outgoing, very sociable," Barrios says. "She wanted to excel in this world, especially to go there, she thought she was going to make her dreams come true; her studies, serve her country but that didn't happen.

On March 7, 2008, Luna was found with a knife in her neck in her room on Sheppard Air Force Base.
Sheppard officials say the incident was investigated as an "apparent homicide".

Five years have since gone by and Luna's mom and the rest of her family say they still have no answers as to what happened to her.
"They haven't given her anything. She got tired of asking for information and they didn't give her anything," Hilda Barrios says. "We've learned in these five years that there really is no justice. There is no justice in this world, who knows later on."
A crime that continues to bring heartache to the family.

Barrios says Luna's mom, Gloria Barrios, is currently in a Chicago hospital battling depression.
"I say it's because this date is too difficult for her. Well, she is not good. Emotionally since that loss, she hasn't been good. Everyone is bad, you know, that loss affected the whole family," Barrios says.

A sad chapter in their lives, Barrios says they hope will be closed sooner than later.
"There is no justice but we pray to God that one day there will be justice for her," Barrios says.
Luna's family urges anyone with any information as to what may have happened to Blanca Luna to contact their local authorities.
