A 38- year old man is in the Wichita County Jail, charged with tampering with evidence and possession of a controlled substance.

According to Wichita County Sheriff David Duke .. it all started with a late night traffic violation.

The sheriff says Jacob Mata left a business on Seymour Highway shortly after 10 last night, but didn't come to a complete stop before leaving the parking lot.

A deputy then pulled Mata's suv over at Loop 11 and Seymour Highway.

When the deputy approached, officials say Mata locked himself inside and put what was believed to be meth in his mouth and ingested it.

Authorities say the deputy busted a window and tased Mata.

Officials say he also had an outstanding felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance
