Burk police say they responded to the 7-11 gas station in the 900-block of Sheppard Rd. Saturday morning for a report of a suspicious package left by the gas pumps.
They say the package looked like a homemade bomb, so they taped off the area and called of the Sheppard AFB bomb-detecting K9.
Officers say the K9 did not alert to the package.
Investigators took the package and looked over it and say at this time, they do not think the package is a homemade bomb, but they say it is still very suspicious in the way it was made and does look like something that would contain a bomb.
Police say they do not have suspects at this time but they are in the process of reviewing surveillance footage to see who left the package.
If you have any information on this situation, call Burk PD at (940) 569-2231.
