Driver Sends Deputies on Late Night Chase

Wichita County deputies are sent on a late night chase, after a driver refuses a traffic stop.

Sheriff David Duke says it happened around 11 last night, when deputies tried to stop a female driver on east Scott by Kell Boulevard.

But instead of stopping, the driver sped onto the Kell West Freeway and started heading towards Holliday.

Officials say the driver eventually turned around and began to head back to Wichita Falls.

In all, the chase lasted about 15 minutes until deputies pinned the driver's vehicle in an alley off of Stearns Ave., west of Featherston.

And that's when they arrested 22 year-old Monika Denise Hastings.

She was charged with evading arrest and driving while intoxicated.

Her bond has yet been sent.
