(WKYC)  A deadly crash has claimed the lives of six Ohio teenagers and injured two others.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a Honda Passport carrying eight people went off the side of a road into a pond in Warren.

All of the victims are from Warren.

According to troopers, the SUV was travelling south when it went off the side of the road, struck a guardrail and went airborne.

Troopers say that speed contributed to the crash and that the SUV was traveling over 70 mph when the driver lost control.

The accident happened just before 7 a.m. Sunday.

The Trumbull County Sheriff's Office Dive team and Ohio State Troopers Crash Reconstruction team responded to the scene.
