Some
younger students will be coloring brightly
during their spring break.
Kids ages 5 to 12 are letting their imaginations run wild at the River Bend Nature Center "Eyes on the Wild" art camp.
Kids painted journal covers which they will use through out the week logging the different animals the campers discover.
They also made cartoons and frog puppets.
Camp organizers say it's just one way to keep these youngsters engaged with learning, without being in school.
"It's a non-traditional environment, it's not so much a classroom but the nature center is their classroom," said Vinny McMullen, a River Bend Nature Center Field Guide.
The River Bend Nature Center is also running a drama camp throughout the week in the afternoons.
