A 20-year-old  man is charged with theft after police say he stole a wedding ring from an elderly invalid he was hired to care for.

Jacobi Marklin faces trial for theft over $1,500 and under $20,000. Police say the woman's family contacted them about the theft and sale of the $6,000 ring. According to the victim, she was in bed and called for Marklin to help her to the bathroom.

When he did not resond she attempted to get out of bed, but fell and broke her arm. She says her fingers began to swell so she took off the ring and when Marklin finally came in, she asked him to put the ring on her dresser. She says Marklin put her back in bed and gave her some pain medication and later she noticed the ring was gone.

Family members did some checking and say they found Marklin had sold the ring to a gold and silver exchange.
