WF Man Tased after Running from Authorities Who Tried to Question Him

A Wichita Falls man is behind bars this afternoon after police say they had to tase him when he tried to get away from authorities who were trying to detain him for questioning.

Police say they went to the 5200 block of Professional Drive yesterday to talk to 31-year-old Shannon Black about assault allegations against him.

They say Black took off running, so an officer deployed their taser. Black was transported to the hospital because he was tased, but was released soon after.

He's charged with evading arrest and is also charged with assault family violence for allegedly hitting and slapping a woman at his apartment. Black's bond is not yet set.
