UPDATE:

61-year-old Eugene Perry is charged with 3 counts of aggravated assault. His bond has not been set at this time.

Police say 3 people went to a home in the 800 block of Linda Lane. There was a confrontation so they got back in the vehicle and started to leave and police say that's when Perry started shooting.

Brandie Banda of the Wichita Falls Police Department said, "The shots were fired into the vehicle as they were leaving and the female was hit and transported by private vehicle to the hospital." Officials say the driver of the van called police as they were leaving to let them know a 33-year-old female had been struck in the chest.

Police met them at the hospital around 3:20 yesterday afternoon. Authorities say no one else was injured in the shooting. This isn't Perry's first brush with law enforcement. He has a very lengthy record that includes numerous arrests for burglary, terroristic threats, resisting and evading arrest, carrying prohibited weapons, and reckless conduct.
