#19 Mustangs rally past #1 West Texas A&M, 6-3

No. 19 Midwestern State rallied past top-ranked West Texas A&M 6-3 to claim its 10th straight win Friday night at Mustangs Park.
The Mustangs have won 16 of their last 17 games to improve to 20-4 on the season while the Buffs took their second loss of the campaign to fall to 19-2.
The teams close the series with a doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Mustangs Park. First pitch is set for noon.
WT charged out to an early 2-0 lead keyed by a Brittany Gehle's third homer of the season in the top of the first inning.
Midwestern sophomore third baseman Kelley Schaefer cut the Lady Buffs' advantage in half by leading off the second inning with a leadoff homer to left field -- her sixth of the season.
Renee Erwin answered with her fifth home run of the year to push the WT lead to 3-1 in the top of the third, but that's all MSU starting pitcher Laci Belovsky would allow.
The freshman from Grangerland settled in to allow two hits over the final four innings to win her 11th consecutive decision to improve to 13-2. Belovsky allowed three runs on six hits while striking out five and walking two in the complete game victory.
Midwestern rallied to take the lead in the fourth as freshman shortstop Shelby Carted keyed the three-run frame with a two-run bomb to center field as the Mustangs claimed a 4-3 edge.
Midwestern added a run on a Schaefer RBI-single in the fifth and took advantage of an error in the sixth to plate Carey Campbell, who had reached on a double down the left-field line to lead off the inning.
