A Wichita Falls man is arrested after they say an early morning dispute turns into a hostage situation.
Around 2:30 a.m., Wichita Falls police were called to a house in the 2300 block of 8th Street to check a suspicious person.
When they arrived, police say they found that person holding three people inside a rear house on the property.
According to investigators, it reportedly started over a dispute over money.
Because police did not know if the suspect was armed they called swat team and negotiators to the scene.
"They were able to talk him out of the residence. He was taken into custody. The other occupants in the residence were taken out. No one was hurt. Just a good, successful operation," says Sgt. John Spraggins with the Wichita Falls Police Department.
Twenty-nine year old Oscar Montoya III is charged with "burglary habitation intend to commit a felony."
He remains in the Wichita County jail on a $100,000 bond.
