Local Bikers to Roll In Funds for At-Risk Kids

Bikers are ready to rev up and roll in funds to help some local at-risk kids.

Motorcyclists will soon gear up for this year's Compassion Run, an event that allows bikers to roll along various Texoma roadways while raising money for a good cause.

Funding from this year's event will go to Straight Street, an organization that provides a positive christian environment for at-risk kids.

And straight street officials say they're excited the event will bring money and some positive role models for the kids.

"This Saturday night after Compassion Run we have a group, I believe it's CMA, that's coming in with a bunch of bikers to bring the word to the kids," says J.J. Schweiger, executive director of Straight Street.

The Compassion Run is this Saturday at Evangel Temple on Barnett Road.

Registration starts at 9 a.m. and the cost is $15 for a singer rider and $20 for a double.
