Midwestern Wins Fourth Straight, Downs Texas-Tyler 6-3

The Midwestern State Mustangs made it four straight wins as they took down the Texas-Tyler 6-3 Friday afternoon at the MSU Tennis Center.
The No. 31 Mustangs (10-4) were strong in the chilly temperatures as they beat the Patriots (12-3), the 10th ranked team in NCAA Division III.
"We played well against a good team," said MSU coach Scott Linn. "I felt we played as complete a match as we have all year. I was proud of the way we stepped up to win."
Once again it was the strong play of the seniors Colby Meeks and Luke Joyce.
The Mustangs No. 1 doubles team that is the top-ranked team in the South Central Region dispatched UT-Tyler's Ryan Ybarra and Daniel Brown 8-4.
Meeks, at No. 2 singles, beat Brown 7-6, 6-3, with Joyce ending the match with a 5-7, 6-4, 10-5 win at No. 1 over Ybarra.
For Meeks has now won eight straight individual matches, four each in singles and doubles.
Tomas Grejtak was also a two-point winner on Friday, as he teamed with Zack Santagate to win at No. 3 doubles over Ramon Martinez and Jon Karsten 8-4. He then added a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 6 singles over Edward Timponi.
